This is a set of still lifes I painted for my Jamaican exhibition. The beer in Jamaica is called Red Stripe and comes in small brown

bottles. You can often see men drinking their Red Stripes in the roadside bars, playing dominoes and smoking Craven “A” cigarettes, occasionally to excess. Still lifes are difficult to make amusing and can lack a narrative. I am grateful to a couple of Jamaican friends who provided the story for this set.
